Sofia Guardado

Accessible Education Specialist: Eastern Colorado Region

Sofia was born in Mexico and  raised in the Eastern Plains of Colorado. As a first-generation student, Sofia has always been passionate about education. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with a minor in Ethnic Studies from Colorado State University and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Academic Leadership from Adams State University.

Prior to working as an accessible education specialist, she worked as a Success Advisor for a newly established Hispanic Serving Institution focused on serving Latinx and first-generation students. In her free time, Sofia enjoys reading and going to concerts.

Sofia firmly believes that everyone should have access to higher education opportunities. Her parents instilled in her the value of both education and serving others. She is excited to be part of the Rural Initiative.
